Hi, Lyssa and Hannah here!

We love betta fish a lot. And we like to look at them and love on them and stuff. I also do a lot of betta things with my friend Sav. WELCOME TO BETTA BUTTS.

Top, Balraj. Bottom, Fezzic.

See, he’s huge!!! And I almost wonder if he’s not fully mature yet, his colors seem to switch between purple and turquoise a lot.

Balraj is looking great. His dorsal and anal fins are both healed and there’s only one or two rips left in his caudal.

His sides are still pretty raw, but those are obviously longer lasting wounds. He eats like a pig and flares at all!

Fezzic

I think Fezzic will be fine no matter what. He’s got some serious chunks taken out of his tail fin and some rips in his anal fin that aren’t pretty but he’s otherwise fine. He didn’t eat any when I dropped a teensy bit of food, but I think that was because his leaf hid it.

Balraj on the other hand, I am very worried. You can how one of his sides is so scraped up. And the bald spot on his head. And his fins. Ate a teensy bit when I dropped food in, but very lethargically and only one bite.

So far they are each in half a gallon (I don’t have larger and its the middle of the night), the water is from their aquarium which was treated and had aquarium salt in it. Their mini-tanks have a little extra Stress Coat added in along with some IAL.

Suggestions? Help?

I’ll let you know whether or not they survive the night.

I am so fucking disappointed in myself here I am I went and put all this money in trying to be a better fish mom I got them bigger tanks and tank heaters and filters and this whole new set up

And Balraj (my king) got past the tank divider into Fezzic’s side (my giant).

While I wasn’t here.

And they fought.

And they’re both alive, whoop-de-fucking-do, but both of them have severely ripped up fins I’ll post pictures in a bit.

And its like

I’ve got them quarantined in cups, but the biggest size tank I have to spare is half a gallon and thats really small for such big fish but I just spent all my money on not-quarantine tanks.

Meanwhile Crisanto is over in HIS quarantine tank AND HIS HEATER GOT THE WATER TO 90 DEGREES.

HOW IS HE ALIVE.

I think

I’m just the worst

I’m awful

/sob

Okay self-disgust party aside, I have them quarantined with IAL and a little extra stress coat in their cups. I tried feeding them to see their reactions, Balraj took a tiny bite, Fezzic ignored. Balraj’s tail fin is clamped and he has a spot missing scales on the top near his head. Fezzic is keeping his fins open but he is wiggling strangely. Sav is bringing me some Stress Enzyme tomorrow but I have to figure out what to put them in. I guess for now I’ll put them into the half gallons??? They’re bigger than the cups, at least. Sav and I added aquarium salt to the 10g earlier today, so that is already in the water in their cups.

This next paycheck is going to be extremely awesome, sooo…

I think I’m going to allot myself $100 for fish supplies tomorrow. Hopefully I can get another 10g, supplies for it, heaters for all my tanks, and some large vases to replace my extremely tiny tanks.

I am especially motivated to revamp my betta things because, well, I got two more boys.

And one of them… might be a giant? He’s seriously huge! Much larger than my king and Sav’s king! Maybe he’s just a mature king, I don’t know, I’ll have to measure him and stuff.

I took photos! They will be forthcoming (along with some great shots of Sav’s boy King George)!!
